October 3, 2010 Rock and Roll Half Marathon

My Finished Look

I ran my first half marathon downtown San Jose.  i finished in 3 hours 34 minutes and 39 seconds!!! Thanks to 2 of my good buddies who ran it with me- Kim and Drew(who i never saw during the race).

I thank you to those who came out and supported me and those who ran with me in my trainning. Mainly Kunu... he is my 4-legged friend who never left my side, but also drug me to the ground :) And to Martin, you are always on my mind and without you and your amazing gift, i may have never made it this far. Thank You.  Now its time to gain some more weight!

I hope all is well with you!

Take Care,

So, in celebration of my 100%  lung function I am running a half marathon in tow days, Sunday, Oct 3rd 2010. For those of you who do not know, that means I am running 13.1 miles. I will be running in honor of Martin (my donor). I wish I could share this joy with his family, and one day I will get to. I hope on Monday Ill be writing you all and let you know how it went. maybe even some pictures

....I wasn't breathing, dancing, running, skipping hopping, jumping, traveling, walking Kunu, going out as much, playing with my nephews and little cousins, living!

Today- 05/03/2010 "I am living the life I used to dream about"

In the future I will travel the world, I will run a half marathon, and I will be alive!

I am so thankful for my donor Martin, because of Him I am now living.

Thank you to everyone, you know who you are. My Family and My Friends. Yesterday was a celebration of Life( Martin's and Mine). I Thank God everyday for this life. I am happy to be here with you all :)

"My" Choppa

One year ago I made my decision to go on the transplant list. I can't believe where my life has been led to this day.  Here I sit and watch my favorite show, The Biggest Looser. I love seeing these people transform and make changes in their life for the better. And that is what I had to do. It will be 6 weeks till my one year anniversary. Rebecca and I are planning a trip to the midwest for a very good friends wedding. I hope it all works out.

But...

Martin

I am not able to put this into words right now... but I have heard from my donor family. At the moment the only information I am going toshare is his name, Martin. I am forever greatful to his/his families decision to donate his organs and save multiple lives. I will share in time with you more if the family doesnt mind. I received a letter on 02/20/2010 from one of his brothers. I plan to continue to write them and they seem just as open to the idea :)

A Mile....12 more to get pumped up for.....

Thats right folks I ran/walked a mile today. Its been ummmm 13 years since Ive done that. I am starting to train for my half marathon on October 3rd downtown San Jose! I have a trainer, Miss Alison! She informed me on how i begin my extravaganza and I am so excited. I took Kunu(my roomies dog) running with me. And yes it was a little tough trying to get him to run at my speed. It was very funny. We began to run and uh he took off faster than I can imagine.  It took us 14 minutes to walk this first mile. I think Ill be doing it alone next time cause I want to see if I can run the whole thing at my pace and see my fastest time.

Happy New Year

What a year, huh ? God has done so much for me this past year and life couldnt be more amazing than it is right now! I thank my donor and his family more than anything right now, because of them, I may have not been alive today. I have watched God do miraculous things this year in peoples lives. I have had 2 other ladies I have become close with get their transplants as well. Both Ari and Leah look amazing!! I couldnt be more happier for them.

I thank everyone of you from the bottom of my lungs(hehe) who have been there with me this whole time. i couldnt have done it without you. To all who made me food, visited me, called me, sent me things, laughed with me, it all kept me going.

Its been too long...

HI Guys!

I know its been a while but its been crazy recently. On oct 23rd I went up to Washingotn with my sister to visit the family for a quick trip. It was so great to fly without oxygen :) I did need to wear my mask as I traveled though and there was this little boy in the airport that said to his mom, "I want a mask." I was more than happy to gve him mine. Haha. We arrived to a wonderful pork tenderloin dinner. Very yummy. I saw my Aunt Shari, Grams, Rachele, Steph, Shan, Derek and the kids. We were up pretty late and I had a burping contest with my lil nephew Kaidin, who is 6 mind you. We were keeping up wtih eachother until I told him to spell R-I-B-B-I-T with his burps. On the folowing day we wer going ot a hallween party. We decided to beThe Addams Family. Our costumes were so good looking. Ill have to put pics up here when I get some. On actual Halloween Missy had a party at our house and we had a fun time.
