BBQ

So since Lindsay has been cooped up in her apartment a lot I decided that I would have a bbq at my house for her so that she could come and relax and of course enjoy yummy food! It was such a nice time and she stayed for quite a few hours. She is doing so good and is chowing down big time but still not gaining weight :( There were about 20 people here....both friends and family, and she said that she enjoyed getting out and it ended up being such a nice day!

I'll post some more pictures in the photo album so that everyone can take a look! Don't forget next Wednesday is our first fundraiser at Chevy's from 5-9. I hope to see you all there!

Update and fundraiser

Ok. So thanks to Nicole :) I changed my most recent posts so that people can make comments on them if they would like! I also added the first activity/fundraiser that will be coming up in just a few short weeks. click on the activities and events portion n the left and it should take you straight to it. Let me know if it doesn't work because I definitely could have posted it wrong. haha. Make sure you print the flier and take it with you otherwise proceeds won't go to Lindsay's funds!

I saw Lindsay today and she looks AWESOME! she is still slowly losing weight so pray that she starts to gain some lbs! I know she's getting bored so even just a phone call will brighten her day!

I hope to see you all at the fundraiser! Im very excited about it!

Lindsay's message :)

Hey everyone. So Lindsay emailed me today and asked me to post this blog for her. I hope you all enjoy it! We'll get her a login and password soon so she can post whenever she wants but for now I'm the go to girl :). Enjoy her letter :)

Boredom is creeping in!

I called Lindsay today and she sounds great! She said she is doing well but has had a hard time getting comfortable so she can sleep at night. The beds are to low and uncomfortable for her so she'll either sleep in the chair or on the couch :(. I know she can't wait for her nice comfy bed!

She has lost a little weight. She currently weighs 87 pounds. When she went in she weighed 89.9 pounds and after the surgery she gained a few pounds (mostly water retention) so we were  hoping she wouldn't lose any. The doctors estimate she'll lose about 18 pounds...but hopefully she won't lose that much. Anyone who goes and visits her make sure you feed her LOTS! Cassie made lasagna so that'll be good for her and she said she had homemade mac and cheese last night. Yum!

My weekend with Lindz!

Ok. So all of the posts before this one came from our old website. I copy and pasted almost all of them so that everyone could view all of the posts in one place! Most of the posts are from Becca but some are from Lindz, Jared, and Myself. I put the dates on all of the ones that had dates and they go in the order from the newest to the oldest!

So I spent the weekend with Lindz at her aparment in Stanford. It's so amazing how much work it takes the first few weeks after the transplant. I got to her house on Friday and right away I gave her her meds...I think there were 12....made her dinner and then it was time to relax!

Not such a Good Night

Walking and Talking

Sunday, May 10, 2009

A few of us went to see Lindsay today and she had another busy day. She went on a morning walk all by herself and in the afternoon she walked with a few of her friends. She finally took a shower today and she felt so much better. I think she had a good day also because we meet a new nurse and she was just the coolest but also VERY professional ;) We even snagged a picture of her before she stabbed Lindsay with her insulin! The picture is a little blurry.

Another Dr. came to update us on her

discharge

and we are still hoping for tomorrow. It could be another day if her new lungs don't expand. The Dr. told us that the lungs will expand but it usually takes patients a few days and some a few weeks. He noticed in her x-rays there is still some
